Compelling Insights on Oil, Iraq, the Economy & Politics
The Democrats are about to nominate Barack Obama as their Presidential candidate. By any objective standard, he will be among the most unqualified party nominees for President in American history. He has no significant legislative accomplishments or political or business or executive leadership track record. He does have a lengthy track record of associating with racists, extremists, shady characters and radical anti-Americans. Virtually every assertion he makes on national security or economics or health care or energy reflects reckless naivete or alarming ignorance about the substance of the issues or the devastating economic consequences of his misguided policy positions.
Obama's only claim to the Presidency arises from his acclaimed, media hyped oratory that promises change and an end to politics as usual even though he offers no track record or specifics to support his claim, and his actions relentlessly contradict his assertions. He claims to be a uniter even as he aggressively uses divisive, racist and socialist economic class warfare tactics to further his candidacy.
In substance, Obama's candidacy is little more than a charismatic personality cult scheme that places America's future in grave jeopardy in the name of his personal ambitions, and his empty mantra of undefined change for the sake of change. His whole political theme cynically plays to people's economic hardships and their worst instincts rather than their best judgment in the belief that voters in distress are ignorant enough to embrace false imagery and demagoguery over experience and substantive solutions to the issues. The worst part is that Obama's reckless agenda would wreck the economy, and the lower and middle income voters he professes to champion would suffer the worst consequences.
The list of Obama's negatives is too voluminous to summarize here so please visit the "Barack Obama" tab on this website for a comprehensive review that offers compelling insights that would destroy his hollow candidacy if every American understood the true consequences of his agenda.
An unconditional American retreat from Iraq is the dream scenario of the USA's worst enemies and yet it is the stated policy of the Democrat Party!
Unfortunately, the Republicans have played into the Democrat's hands by only focusing on the national security aspects of the Iraq debate rather than exposing the economic disaster that would unfold if the USA abandons Iraq to chaos that triggers a huge further increase in oil prices that would devastate the American economy. All the Republicans have to do is help Americans recognize that their personal financial well being is at stake in Iraq, and the $5 per person per month that 75% of Americans are investing in Iraq is a very small price to pay to insure their financial well being from huge further oil price increases that would wreck the economy.
It is beyond any rational dispute that Osama Bin Laden and his terrorist brethren are praying at least four times a day that Obama and his Democrat cohorts will win in November and:
The truth is that Osama completely understands America's huge economic vulnerability to high oil prices, and Obama does not. In fact, Osama and Obama both have a plan to destroy the American economy. The only difference is that the former understands what he is doing and the latter does not. All the Republicans have to do is tell the voters the truth.
Oil prices have risen from $59 per barrel when the Democrats took control of Congress in January 2007 to over $140 per barrel today in direct response to the increasing likelihood that Democrats will win in November and abandon Iraq to chaos that will trigger a massive oil price increase. Therefore, the Democrat's irresponsible Iraq retreat policy is directly responsible for most of the $600 BILLION increase in the USA's annual oil costs that approximates the cost of the whole Pentagon budget!! This huge increase in oil costs is the primary factor in the economic slowdown that is causing financial distress for many Americans.
America imports about 13 million barrels of oil each DAY as a direct result of the Democrats long term opposition to nuclear power, clean coal power, ANWR drilling, USA offshore drilling, oil shale drilling and investing in Iraqi oil export capacity that could collectively increase oil production and reduce consumption of foreign oil. Therefore, the Democrats are directly responsible for America's huge reliance on oil and oil imports and the huge recent increase in oil prices.
So far, the Democrat's only responses to the oil price crisis have been to:In truth, the Democrats have no solutions to the oil price problem because they like it and look forward to the huge further increases in oil prices that should reduce carbon emissions while allowing them to collect much higher income tax revenues from oil companies that they can use to buy off voting constituencies to support them. In the Democrat's mad quest for absolute political power, they are blind to the economic devastation that much higher oil prices will cause and that will be their full responsibility. The deep economic recession they create would ultimately earn them the crushing political defeat they so richly deserve, but, in the mean time, Americans would pay a terrible economic price for trusting self-serving Democrats with their economic future.
- Continue to oppose all the above energy production alternatives.
- Demagogue the USA big oil companies that only control about 1.5% of global oil reserves and cannot set global oil prices that have risen because of Democrat self destructive policies on Iraq and domestic energy production.
- Pursue a "windfall" profits tax on USA oil companies that would reduce the funds available for oil drilling and alternative energy development to increase supply.
- Welcome high oil prices as a means to reduce carbon energy emissions to solve a man made global warming problem that does not exist while accelerating the conversion to "green" energy alternatives that do not exist.
- Demagogue the Republicans policies on energy even though the Democrats created the oil dependence and price problem and have resisted every serious method to solve it.
- Enjoy the economic distress created by high oil prices that is fueling their political momentum.
All the Republicans have to do is expose the above realities to all Americans who are suffering the financial effects of high oil prices.
In an historic display of unmitigated gall, the Democrats are having a field day bashing the Republicans over the economic slow down even though the USA economy was booming until eight months AFTER the Democrats took over Congress in January 2007. GDP growth was at a 5% annual rate in the third quarter of 2007, and deteriorated rapidly after that as a direct result of:
- Huge increases in oil costs triggered by the Democrat's demands for an unconditional retreat from Iraq.
- The Democrats demands for higher taxes that would reduce investor returns while sapping consumer spending dollars and the sources of capital investment that drive economic growth.
- The Democrat's calls for higher social spending and a costly universal health care plan at the precise moment that millions of baby boomers are retiring and placing huge financial strains on Federal government.
In reality, the Democrats do not have a cohesive, rational economic growth policy. They have a series of reckless and independent policy positions on issues that are designed to pander to special interest voting groups regardless of their very negative effects on the economy.
The Democrats want to enact as massive and costly new universal health care entitlement that is completely crazy for the following reasons:The huge financial problems with Medicare and Social Security are the direct result of failed socialist ideas that were created by Democrats, and yet the Democrats want America to pursue a costly, socialist universal healthcare entitlement that would risk the financial and credit standing of the USA at a time when the U.S. dollar is already plummeting. All the Republicans have to do is lay out the facts to voters in terms they can grasp.
- The economy is near recession and millions of baby boomers are retiring and placing an ever increasing financial strain on the federal government.
- Medicare will begin paying out more in benefits 2008 than it collects in taxes.
- Social security will begin paying out more in benefits 2017 than it is taking in in taxes.
- Democrats cannot begin to estimate the cost of universal health care and the federal government is notoriously inaccurate in making such estimates. "Free" health care will cause millions of people to use more health care services than they do now at huge costs to taxpayers.
- Democrats want to finance universal health care with huge new taxes on the 25% of "rich" Americans who are already paying 86% of personal federal income taxes. This is unAmerican wealth redistribution that is opposed by over 80% of Americans according to a new Gallup poll.
- Obama's "universal healthcare" is a hugely costly "white elephant", government entitlement program that would dwarf the cost of Social Security and Medicare programs that are already straining the credit rating of the USA. Once "free" health care is passed, it cannot be reversed, and it will place an enormous financial burden on future generations.
- Government run Medicare is already reducing pay outs to doctors and hospitals that will make them reject older patients. Universal healthcare will reduce provider choices for patients and risks a massive loss of future, high quality medical providers who will seek other more lucrative professions than medicine.
