A CANDID SUMMARY OF AMERICA's  SITUATION

At this moment, America is on a path to perhaps the greatest strategic and economic peril in its history.  Please consider the following summary of points:

  • America is engaged in a protracted conflict in Iraq.  The successful outcome of that conflict is critical to America's strategic and economic interests, but many misguided American voters no longer support the effort in Iraq, and are pushing their politicians to withdraw American forces regardless of the consequences.
  • The Bush administration has been extremely ineffective in its conduct of the war in Iraq, and in communicating the critical stakes of the conflict and the potential for an economic disaster that could occur if America retreats.  As a result, most Americans have lost confidence in the Bush administration, and that leaves no strong, credible advocate for the necessity of a long term U.S. military presence in Iraq.
  • The Democrats have seized on the war issue as their ticket to absolute political power in America.  In their mad rush to power, they have set aside any responsible concern for the consequences of a retreat from Iraq.  They could be demanding a comprehensive solution to the conflict that protects America's strategic interests.  Instead they are mindlessly advocating a complete removal of U.S. forces from Iraq that, 1) serves the strategic interests of America's worst enemies, and 2) leaves America open to a loss of its strategic, military and economic primacy that generations of Americans have built.
  • Most Republicans continue to understand the strategic and economic importance of Iraq and to vote accordingly. However, they have failed, 1) to mount an effective media campaign to counter the Democrat's demagoguery on the war, and 2) to lay out the severe strategic and economic consequences of retreat from Iraq in a way that Americans can understand and support.
  • Inexplicably, and to their own detriment, the Republicans steadfastly refuse to forcefully point out the strong connection between oil prices, Iraq and the American economy.  The Republicans would win the 2008 election in a landslide if they would,  1) invest the time to help voters understand that their personal financial well being is at stake in Iraq, and 2)  educate the voters about the very destructive economic effect of the Democrat's domestic agenda.
  • Has any Democrat other than Joe Lieberman given any thought to the political effect an American retreat from Iraq would have on the government in Pakistan?  The leadership there is responsible for Pakistan's nuclear arsenal, and they are trying to keep a lid on 160 million Muslims who are largely  anti-American in their viewpoints.  An American surrender in Iraq would send a very clear message of American political weakness that could further embolden the radicals in Pakistan to vigorously challenge Pakistan's support for the USA.   What happens if America's retreat in Iraq ends in Islamic radicals seizing control of Pakistan's nuclear arsenal?
  • Socialism has raised its ugly head in the domestic agenda advocated by the Democrat Party in this election.  These ideas are the Siren's call to an economic disaster, because socialism stifles innovation, productivity, economic prosperity and the human spirit.
  • If you do not believe this to be the case, you have only to look at Russia where a socialist experiment has prevailed for 90 years.  Russia has almost as many people as the USA, but their GDP is less than 5% of the USA, and their people live bleak, subsistence lives waiting for the moment when Russian oil runs out or is eclipsed by technology.
Countless American generations have resisted the false promise of socialism, and it is the responsibility of current generations to do the same.  Capitalism and free enterprise are the blessings that have made America great, and they must be forcefully defended by responsible American voters.
  • Perhaps more importantly, Russia is now run by ruthless people who have destroyed democracy in Russia.  They have replaced it with a totalitarian regime that murders its own dissidents at an alarming rate that would embarrass the former Soviets.  They have eliminated their independent press and have just announced that they are setting up a huge new government agency to regulate content on the Internet.
Their intent is to suppress all domestic opposition so that they can achieve their primary goal of making Russia the supreme power in the world at the expense of the USA.  The best way they can do that is to drive the U.S. out of the Middle East in a humiliating defeat that limits the USA's access to oil, and collapses our economy.

A conflict in the Middle East that threatens to or actually reduces oil exports would cause the price of oil to skyrocket, and dramatically increase the revenues the Russians receive from their oil exports.  They could then use that money to accelerate the rebuilding of their economic and military capability to fill the power void that would be created by America's strategic defeat.

Russia is a very scary place right now because the Russian people appear ready to exchange their personal freedoms for order and economic prosperity.  The last time we saw that trade off by a nation on such a grand scale was in Germany in the 1930’s.  Picture a Nazi type regime with several thousand nuclear weapons, and it really focuses your mind on what America could be facing if Russia is left unchecked.  This reality should help Americans understand why now is no time to be pursuing defeatist demagoguery and retreat from Iraq.

The Growing Threat of A Conspiracy Against America

America is in a hot war with the forces of Islamic extremism that are dedicated to the destruction of American civilization.  It is also back in a cold war with Iran and the increasingly fascist and belligerent government of Russia that is vigorously trying to reestablish itself as a global superpower by challenging American interests.  The common goal of these two forces is to reduce U.S. economic power and influence by forcing up oil prices.  This common purpose is evidenced by the fact that

  • Iran and Russia rely almost exclusively on oil exports to drive their economies and their political ambitions.
  • They have established a very close relationship on military equipment and nuclear power.
  • They both espouse virulently anti-American rhetoric with common themes.
  • They both have ambitions to increase their economic, political and military power at America's expense.

The dream scenario of Al Qaeda, Iran and Russia is an American retreat from Iraq that would cause radically higher oil prices, and position them to potentially control western access to almost 80% of the world's oil reserves.  From their perspective, higher oil prices have the dual benefit of reducing American economic power while filling their coffers with additional cash to build their military and economic capabilities.

America is also under attack from within by the extremist "Anti-War Movement", large media elements and the Democrat Party.  All of these groups want America out of Iraq regardless of the consequences to American civilization.

These diverse groups have formed a very effective de facto alliance that is pushing America to the edge of an economic catastrophe beyond most American's comprehension.  They are all joined by a common belief that apathy and ignorance among American voters can force America into decisions that will serve all of their personal goals at the expense of America's national interests.

Political Summary

The Democrat's self-serving foreign and domestic policy agenda represents perhaps the "Perfect Storm" of an economic catastrophe, and it should be vigorously opposed by any rational voter who is seriously concerned about their children's future.  This assertion is not driven by partisan motives, but by a thorough, objective examination of the issues and the consequences of their policies.

Finally, this website was designed to expose the realities of America's strategic and economic situation for Americans who want non-partisan insights.  If you have read this far, you are a concerned American and that means you need to join me to vigorously attack the forces that are aligned to destroy our great nation.

If you are still skeptical of the need to take these threats seriously and consider these concerns to be alarmism, just remember that almost all of Great Britain and Europe thought Winston Churchill was an alarmist before World War II.  I am no Winston Churchill, but a very compelling argument exists that the strategic threat to America now is far greater than it was then.

Thank you for your time and consideration of these important issues.  Please forward this website to everyone you know and encourage them to do the same.  Six degrees of separation may be the key to educating voters and avoiding disaster.

If you have further interest in the possibility of a growing conspiracy against the USA, please proceed to the "Divided We Fall" or the "The Iraq Bottom Line" tab.
