Compelling Insights on Oil, Iraq, the Economy & Politics
A recent revelation about a huge potential vulnerability of the US Navy can be found in the link below. I encourage you to read it and then to consider the very plausible scenario that follows.
US Navy Lacks Plan to Defend Against "Sizzler" Missile
If this account is accurate as it appears to be, the strategic significance of these startling revelations cannot be overemphasized. The US Navy routinely operates in the narrow Straits of Hormuz and the small Persian Gulf where they could be very vulnerable to attack by these devastating missiles.
If only one US carrier was successfully attacked by an onslaught of these high speed missiles, thousands of sailors could lose their lives and the whole strategic deterrent premise of the US Navy would collapse. America will have invested trillions of dollars in a navy that would be ineffective in resisting Iranian aggression in the Middle East.
The Democrats have not offered any credible strategic plan to resist Iranian aggression in the Middle East after they force the removal of America's ground forces in Iraq. However, one must assume that the deterrent effect of the US Navy would have to be a huge part of constraining Iranian ambitions to control all of the Middle East oilfields and to destroy Israel and the American economy.
If the US Navy was removed as a deterrent by these missiles, all that would remain is the US airforce which could quickly lose all of its airbases in the region to a concerted Iranian ground assault. In the face of a broad Iranian led assault and America's capitulation in Iraq, it could be very difficult to find anyone in the region to offer airbases, especially if Iran is allowed to obtain nuclear weapons.
With the loss of its airbases in the region, all that would remain is the long range missile and strategic bomber force operating from Diego Garcia. The bombers would be vulnerable to attack without air superiority over the Middle East that would be near impossible to maintain without large airbases in the region. It could be militarily impossible to launch precision bombing attacks and politically impossible for America to launch indiscriminate attacks on Iranian population centers to defend America's access to Middle East crude oil.
If an Iran joined an alliance with Syria and Iraq and they successfully seized control of 2/3 of the world's oil reserves, they could easily devastate the American economy, and perhaps shatter the financial well being of almost every American! This would make it very difficult to reverse their aggression without huge losses of America soldiers and economic losses and military expenditures that would dwarf the cost of maintaining a credible ground force deterrent in Iraq. Even if the USA was ultimately successful in defeating Iran, does anyone doubt that the Middle Es at oil infrastructure would be destroyed in the process? Win or lose, the American economy is devastated.
The "Sizzler" is a reality, but its effectiveness against the US Navy is unproven. The US Navy's countermeasure are unproven as well and it appears the Navy may be doing little to find the answer as they continue to build new ships that may be vulnerable. Does anyone seriously believe that large ships will not ultimately be vulnerable to advances in missile technology? Should America's national security be risked on an unknown of this magnitude? Is anyone in Washington doing their job?
In summary, no American politician can responsibly advocate removal of US ground forces from the Middle East if the assertions in this article are true, and yet the Democrats continue to insist on a near complete withdrawal of American ground forces from Iraq. The USA maintained ground forces for over 50 years in Europe as a deterrent to the USSR, and America must do the same thing to deter Iran from seizing the Middle East oilfields until the USA eliminates its 60% reliance on foreign oil and defeats radical Islam. The Democrat's refusal to accept this reality should tell you all you need to know about their qualifications to protect America's national security.
If you still believe all of this is alarmism, just remember that everyone in free Europe thought Winston Churchill was a crazy alarmist and Neville Chamberlain was a genius until September 1, 1939, and Hitler never attacked anyone until after Munich. Iran and Al Qaeda are telling us what they plan to do just as Hitler did, but most Americans are not listening because they are secure in the misperception that America's military is invincible. America appears on the verge of ignoring the lessons of history again. WAKE UP AMERICA and unite before it is too late!
